Production Strategy

The location of my Trek 03 is on the UWM campus. I wanted to continue with that location from my first two treks. I did explore a lot of east and south sides of Mitchell Hall. These are the sides that are adjacent to Downer Ave and Kenwood Blvd. I knew this would be refreshing because I never have seen this side of the campus before because I just hadn’t the need to. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for in this particular spot, but I just kept my questions at hand. I thought this site would be promising because it was new to me and hoped that it ignite new capturing strategies.
I will limit my image capturing activities by capturing “fall” as a season and as a theme. Along with that I will incorporate into each other “fall” and urban surroundings and activities. I want to capture images that say “although cold and freezing, work still needs to be done.”
I will limit my sound capturing activities by recording exclusively nature and exclusively city. I think that will be a challenge especially on the UWM campus where both can be found, but finding each cut off from each other will be a task.I will use the power of machines and combine that with the serenity of nature and hopefully create a pleasing existence in a sound video.

Ten Questions

1. Which animals are most active this time of year in the UWM area?
2. Does each automobile have a distinct sound as it drives by?
3. What is the duration of each traffic light?
4. Which streets are busiests and not so busy in the UWM area?
5. How close can I get to a construction site?
6. What time of day would be best to capture automobiles on the move?
7. How do nature and urban life co-exist?
8. Do people mind being recording for a reason unknown to them?
9. Is it even possible to avoid a Fall theme?
10. Can a constant sound connect to more than several images?

Assessmentt #4

My favorite experience overall had to have been my closest encounter with a squirrel ever. It happened on my Trek 03 as I was video recording leaves on the ground there was a squirrel lurking amongst the leaves. I didn’t notice it at first, but it got my startled attention when it jittered up onto a picnic table next to me. I recorded it nibbling at its hands and looking at me. It moved closer to me as if it wanted something. It was about two feet away from me when I made the decision to flee.
